Fifth day of Olympic Games: what to expect?

Today is the fifth day of the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Athletes will compete for 20 medal sets: rowing, cycling, canoe/kayak slalom, shooting, gymnastics, judo, diving, fencing, weightlifting, table tennis, swimming, volleyball and handball.

Russia can win medals in 25m pistol shooting competitions. The country will be represented by Vladimir Goncharov and Denis Kulakov. Double trap men's qualification will start at 15:00 MSK and the final will start at 21:00 MSK. The Russian team includes the winner of the Olympic Games in London, Vasily Mosin, and Vitaly Fokeev.

David Belyavsky and Nikolay Kuksenkov will represent Russia in men's all-around team gymnastics.

Azerbaijani judoka Mammadali Mehdiyev will fight Russian Kiril Denisov at Judo Men -90 kg Elimination Round.

Fencing (men's individual sabre and women’s individual epee) finals will be held in the evening. Russian Nikolay Kovalev will compete against Hungarian Tamas Decsi and Alexey Yakimenko against Bulgarian Pancho Paskov. Russia has hopes for Irina Deriglazova and Aida Shanaeva.

Russia's Anton Chupkov will compete in 200-meter breaststroke.

Russia's Vladimir Nikitin will fight against Vanuatu's Boe Lionel Warawara in men's boxing (56 kg).

In Tennis Steve Johnson (the US) will play Evgeny Donskoy (Russia) at the men's singles third round. Daria Kasatkina (Russia) will play Madison Keys (the US) at women's singles quarterfinals, TASS reports.
