Finals at FIG European Aerobic Gymnastics Championships in Baku

The final day of the FIG European Aerobic Gymnastics Championships has started in Baku. Today, finals in all categories among juniors and seniors are held.

The day starts with the Presentation of Participating Countries of the Finals at 8:50 a.m. At 9:00 a.m., juniors compete in women and men individual exercises, as well as in mixed pairs. After the awarding ceremony, juniors fight for medals in trio exercises, groups, and aerodance. The awarding ceremony starts at 12:15 a.m.

After a break, the Presentation of Participating Countries of the Finals for seniors is held at 1:25 p.m. The aerostep competition takes place at 1:40 p.m. Senior finals started at 1:45 p.m. First, it is going to be women and men individual exercises and mixed pairs. After that, the awarding ceremony is held. At 3:35 p.m. trio, groups, and aerodance competitions are held. The final awarding ceremony takes place at 4:55 p. m.

Azerbaijani gymnasts participate in the finals in aerodance (juniors took 8th place in semi-finals, seniors – second place in semi-finals). Azerbaijani seniors will fight for medals in group exercises.

After two days of qualifications, Russian athletes won both sets of gold medals in the team rating – juniors and seniors. Romania took both sets of silver medals, Hungary – both bronze medals.

The National Gymnastics Arena in Baku welcomes FIG European Aerobic Gymnastics Championships for the first time. Athletes from 22 countries participate in the tournament. Juniors and seniors perform in individual exercises among men and women, mixed pairs, trio and groups, aerodance, as well as aerostep – only for seniors. There will also be winners in junior and senior team ratings. Athletes will compete for 15 sets of medals.
