Fire at ‘Guneshli’ is not yet extinguished

A fire, which broke out on Friday night at the Guneshli gas field in the Caspian Sea, is still ongoing.

The fire occurred on platform № 10 of this offshore field, where the Azerbaijani state company SOCAR produces oil and gas. The cause was stormy winds that damaged a gas line.

It is known that the company leadership has already left for the scene.

"The workers who were on the platform where the fire broke out are all fine. All are alive and well," the headquarters of EMERCOM reports.
