A fire on the Iranian ship Nardiz in the Volga-Caspian canal has been extinguished, the head of the press service of the Emergencies Ministry’s local department, Dmitry Dubrovsky, said.
"No one was injured. According to preliminary information, the fire was caused by a short circuit in the ship’s kitchen," Interfax-South cited Dubrovsky as saying.
The ship may be brought to the port of Astrakhan for repair.
