Registration of candidates for the presidential elections in Iran continues. Now, there is a woman among the 17 registered candidates. Zohra Elahian is running for the presidency.
Iranian politician Zohra Elahian has successfully registered as a candidate for the presidency of Iran, representative of the campaign headquarters organizing the elections Mohsen Eslami said.
"Ms. Zohra Elahian has registered as a presidential candidate,”
– the official said.
Elahian is not the first woman to apply for registration. According to Eslami, yesterday, three women tried to go through the registration procedure, but their candidacies did not meet the requirements, thus, they all were rejected.
