A counter-terrorism operation is being carried out on the outskirts of Nalchik.
Its area is limited from the north by the southern edge of the village of Khasanya, from the east by the Khasanya-Gerpegezh road, from the south by the River Heiu, and from the west to the north-east by the River Belaya.
After some time a group of militants was discovered there. "The security forces discovered a group of militants in a forested area in the Cherek district of the republic, bandits opened fire on them. Currently, the shootout is continuing," RIA Novosti quoted a representative of the security forces as saying.
