Five suffer injuries after fire breaks out at Iran's refinery

Five people suffered minor injuries after a fire broke out on Monday at a sulfur storage tank in an oil refinery in Iran’s central province of Isfahan, the head of the province’s Crisis Management Department Mansour Shishe-Foroush said.

Shishe-Foroush rejected as “false” some claims that nearly 100 people have been injured in the fire in the Isfahan Oil Refining Company, saying only five suffered minor injuries.

"Due to the hot weather, there was a fire in the sulfur waste section, which led to the minor injuries of five people after their smoke inhalation," the Tasnim News Agency cited him as saying.

The provincial official also emphasized that the incident, which occurred before noon today, was small.
