Former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright has died at the age of 84, Spokesman for the Department of State Ned Price confirmed at a briefing on Wednesday.
According to Price, US President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who are aboard the plane flying to Europe, were notified of her death. CNN reported earlier that Albright had passed away.
Albright was the first female US secretary of state and served from 1997 to 2001.
