The sixth UN chief Boutros Boutros-Ghali passed away today at the age of 94.
It was announced at the opening of the regular meeting of the UN Security Council by the head of the Security Council, Rafael Dario Ramirez Carreno.
The Council members paid tribute to the former Secretary General of the United Nations with a minute of silence.
According to the Egyptian edition of Al-Ahram, Boutros-Ghali died in a hospital in Cairo, Trend reports.
