Armenian law enforcement has detained former Yerevan mayor Gagik Beglaryan on charges of money laundering and abuse of office, local media reported, citing sources.
"Beglaryan is accused of abuse of office and money laundering. He has been detained. A petition for his arrest has been filed with the court",
the media said.
Beglaryan served as head of the Armenian capital's administration from 2009 to 2010 and later led the country's Ministry of Transport from 2012 to 2016.
