Foundation of a rail bridge of Azerbaijani and Iranian parts of Astara to be laid this week

The construction of railway bridge Astara (Azerbaijan) – Astara (Iran) is to kick off this week, abc.az reports.

The Iranian media write, the solemn ceremony scheduled for April 21st will be attended by head of CJSC Azerbaijani Railways (ADY) Javid Gurbanov, the co-chairs of the Azerbaijani-Iranian Intergovernmental Commission, Communications & Information Technology Minister Mahmoud Vaezi of Iran and Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev of Azerbaijan.

The bridge across the Astara River can be commissioned in late 2016 or early 2017.
