Free health care for Russians?

High-tech medical care in Russia will be financed from the federal budget, it was in place in the draft budget and planned to be carried out in the 2020/21 period, Russia's Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said at the meeting of the Russian Tripartite Commission for Regulating Social and Labour Relations.

"Starting from 2020, all non-insurance expenses, high-tech medical care not included in the basic program of compulsory medical insurance, birth certificate program will be financed at the expense of the federal budget," RIA Novosti cited her as saying.

Golikova noted that high-tech medical care will be expanded in such services as traumatology and orthopaedics,  endocrinology, neurology, as well as proton beam therapy, which is used to treat cancer.
