French authorities detect "sanctioned" Russian ship in Channel

The French authorities detained a Russian vessel in the English Channel, Agence France-Presse reports with a reference to the Maritime Prefecture.

The Russian Embassy in France confirmed the data on the detention of the dry cargo ship. Diplomats immediately contacted the French authorities for clarification, RIA Novosti reports.

The vessel is presumably owned by a Russian company that is under sanctions, the French agency informs.
