Fuad Poladov would have turned 70 today

Today well-known Azerbaijani theater and cinema actor, Honored Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR, People's Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR Fuad Poladov would have turned 70 years old.

Fuad Poladov was born on May 24, 1948 in Baku. He started is career with the role of Selim in the 1966 The Investigation Continues. He graduated at the Drama and Cinema Acting faculty of ASEI (1967-1972). He played Savalan in the theater movie The Ruined Diaries. The premiere was entered into the actor's troupe after the play performed on November 29, 1969.

On March 20, 1987 he was awarded the honorary title of People's Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR. Since 1989 he has been the actor of the Azerbaijan State Russian Drama Theater named after Samad Vurgun. Awarded the Golden Pearce Award for Best Actor Award for Actor in 2015.

Fuad Poladov passed away this year on May 5 in Baku.

The actor of the Azerbaijan State Russian Drama Theater, People's Artist of Azerbaijan Safa Mirzagasanov, speaking with the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza, admitted that after Fuad Poladov's death, he feels the void in his soul. "I come to my make-up room in the theater, and he's not there, just an empty table. We performed together a lot. We were always together, we share the same make-up room until the last day," the actor recalled.

"He was a great, terrific actor, which is very rare. His death is a great tragedy not only for our theater, but for Azerbaijan as a whole. It makes me so sad, but the memory of him, his roles in theater and cinema will remain forever. I hope that everyone will remember him. He was a good friend of mine. We often met outside the theater, at different celebrations, birthdays, weddings. I loved him. He was very kind and sympathetic man, a good partner, a talented actor. For 30 years side by side we have never had any disputes," Safa Mirzagasanov said.

"Fuad Poladov was a whole phenomenon in the Azerbaijani culture. The youth learned from his attitude to the stage, to roles. He graduated an acting course at our university, now his student Maksud Mammadov works at the theater. He was a very talented person. We were in performances of Anton Chekhov's the Cherry Orchard and the Seagull. This will never be forgotten," the People's Artist concluded.
