The issue of additional economic restrictions against Russia and its partners was addressed during the meeting at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. A joint statement was released following the discussions.
"We discussed imposing additional economic costs on Russia, including measures targeting third countries. We welcome the ongoing discussions among G7 finance ministers on the further use of Russian sovereign assets to support Ukraine,"
the G7 ministers stated.
The document also reaffirms the G7 countries' commitment to resolving the situation in Ukraine and achieving lasting peace.
