GDP increases in Turkmenistan

The GDP of Turkmenistan grew by 8.7% in January-July 2015, the Ministry for Economy and Development of Turkmenistan says.

According to the macroeconomic indices of seven months of the year, the GDP of Turkmenistan remains at the level of 108.7%, including the industrial sector – 104.4%; the construction sphere – 112.6%, the transport and communications complex – 111.9%, the trade sphere – 113%, agriculture – 112.2%, the service sphere – 112.1%, Trend reports.

In comparison to the same period of last year, the pace of industrial growth in Turkmenistan is 107.5%.

Turkmenistan is building several major enterprises. They will give a new impetus to the development of the chemical industry. Construction of gas pipelines is continuing intensively. It will enable transport routes for Turkmen natural gas to be diversified.

Turkmenistan is building electricity power stations and developing oil and gas fields. According to BP, the country takes fourth place in the world in gas resources. Today it has opportunities to export gas to China, Iran and Russia.
