As a result of a firefight yesterday in a suburb of Makhachkala one gunman was killed and two of his accomplices were arrested, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry reported.
"Three bandits, threatening a Shamhal village resident with guns, stole 100 thousand rubles from him, then encountered police officers and opened fire, in the return fire one of the bandits was killed and the rest were detained,’’ RIA Novosti quotes him as saying.
