The head of the Ganja Executive Power Elmar Veliyev was subjected to an armed attack yesterday. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed the attack.
A man wanted by the police attacked the head of the administration. As a result of the incident, one of the official's guards was wounded.
According to preliminary information, Elmar Veliyev did not suffer as a result of the attack.

A criminal case was initiated under articles 29, 120.2.3, 120.2.7 (deliberate attempt to kill the victim in connection with the performance of this person's official activity or public duty) and 228 (illegal acquisition of firearms), an operational investigation team was established from experienced prosecutors, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Security Committee.
