U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense David Norquist met with Georgian Minister of Defense Irakli Garibashvili at the Pentagon to discuss the strategic partnership between Washington and Tbilisi, the Pentagon press service reported.
It was noted that Garibashvili and Norquist discussed bilateral security cooperation programs.
The sides also discussed Georgia's contributions to the Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan.
"Deputy Secretary Norquist and Minister Garibashvili agreed to pursue opportunities to further strengthen the close defense relationship between the U.S. and Georgia," the statement reads.
