The explosion occurred at 10:00 am local time in one of main gas lines in Baku's Sangachal, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations said, adding that the explosion occurred in 43rd km of Baku-Alat road.
After explosion, a fire broke out in the pipeline. Manpower and equipment of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations were involved in the scene.
According to SOCAR, no one has been injured.
Currently, the line is localized, natural gas pumping is stopped and preparatory works are underway for repair.
