Gazprom Aero SSJ-100 crashes near Kolomna

A Sukhoi SuperJet 100 (SSJ100) crashed on July 12 near the city of Kolomna in the Moscow Region during a test flight after a scheduled overhaul, the operational services said.

"There were no passengers on board; however, there was a crew of three," they said.

Rescue teams have been rushed to the scene, three people of the pilot crew on board died. The plane belonged to Gazprom avia,.

The Sukhoi Superjet crashed in the Moscow region during a post-overhaul test flight, emergency services 

"The plane took off at 2:51 p.m. Moscow time (11:52 a.m. GMT). The last radio contact with the airport’s air traffic controller took place at 4:56 p.m. Moscow time. According to preliminary data, the plane was at an altitude of 900 meters," the spokesman for the emergencies services said.

The pilots directed the plane away from residential houses, thus avoiding casualties and damage on the ground.
