Gazprom and Turkish private companies settle gas pricing dispute

Russia's Gazprom and private Turkish companies have settled pricing disputes for Russian natural gas, a source familiar with the matter said.

The source added the settlement had been reached not long ago and that an announcement would be forthcoming imminently, without elaborating further, Sputnik reports.

Gazprom works with at least seven private Turkish gas companies, including Bati Hatti, Kibar Enerji and Shell Turkey in addition to the state-owned Botas. The Russian company agreed with the private firms, including Bosphorus Gaz and three affiliates of Akfel Holding, in late April 2015 to provide retroactive discounts of 10.25%.

However, Enerco Enerji said in early March that Gazprom Export canceled a 10.25-percent price discount. The Hurriyet newspaper cited sources in local gas importing companies saying last month they did not rule out filing an international lawsuit against Gazprom because of the discount cancellations.
