Gazprom has commented on the termination of the contract with Turkmengaz. According to the company, the deputy chairman of the Russian company Alexander Medvedev noted that the parties failed to agree on the price for natural gas during negotiations.
"It started a very long time ago. Due to the fact that the price issue has not been resolved, we act within the framework of the contractual rights that we have. We were negotiating for a long period, which is beyond the common practice, but in spite of this the prices issue has not been resolved," Tass cites him as saying.
