The CEO of Gazprom, Alexey Miller, stated today that the company has received a request from 'Naftogaz Ukraine' for a discount and will pass it on to the government.
"The level of prices will be comparable and competitive with neighboring countries of the European Union to Ukraine. Gazprom will refrain from a 'take-or-pay' condition during the next two quarters," TASS quoted him as saying.
Miller also noted that all major bilateral issues on the winter package have been agreed with Kiev. "We expect that the agreement with the participation of the European Commission will be signed next week, and prepaid gas supplies will resume from October 1," Miller concluded.
