The Georgian Railway, the Bulgarian State Railways and the Bulgarian maritime company signed an agreement to restore the Black Sea ferry traffic.

Preparatory work to restore the traffic, which was discontinued two years ago, has been underway since the beginning of the year. The parties have agreed on all conditions for the resumption of ferry service.

"Ferry as well as railway links between Bulgaria and Georgia play an important role in the logistics of goods transported across the Black Sea. Restoring the communication, on the one hand, will ensure the flow of additional freight traffic, and on the other hand, is vital from the point of view of increasing the efficiency of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor)," the Georgian Railway said.
