Georgia and Turkey retain visa-free regime

Georgia and Turkey retain visa-free regime

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Mikheil Janelidze has commented on recent media information about the introduction of a visa regime between Ankara and Tbilisi.

"We don’t see any necessity, or such circumstances that could change the current visa regime between the two countries,’’ he said.

Recall that, according to the existing rules, Georgian citizens may enter the territory of Turkey using an internal passport.

Georgian Ambassador to Turkey Irakli Koplatadze pointed out that such misinformation appeared due to the fact that Turkey and the EU are discussing rules for a visa-free regime, according to which Ankara has to establish border controls with 86 states, Sputnik Georgia reports.
