Today Tbilisi hosted a meeting of the President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili and US Assistant Secretary Bridget Brink, where the parties discussed the security situation in the region.
The meeting was also attended by US Ambassador Ian Kelly, Secretary of the National Security Council Irina Imerlishvili and presidential advisers.
According to the press service of the head of the Georgian state, the interlocutors discussed the democratic reforms being implemented in Georgia at the moment, the process of preparing for the elections and integration into European and Euro-Atlantic institutions.
In addition, Brink and Margvelashvili talked about the importance of the Charter of Strategic Partnership formalized between the two countries, and noted great potential for deepening of cooperation, Trend reports.
