Georgia develops domestic tourism

The Georgian National Statistics Office Sakstat reported an increase in the number of domestic tourists in the country in the first quarter of this year.

The department reported an 8.8% increase in the number of domestic tourists compared to last year. On average, 1,277.7 thousand Georgians traveled around the country per month.

Domestic tourism was mainly carried out by citizens from 31 to 50 years old (more than 37%). The main destinations were Tbilisi, Imereti and Adjara.
