Georgia expects to become independent of Russian gas

Georgia has a lot of opportunities to avoid becoming dependent on Russian gas, First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia and Minister of Energy, Kakha Kaladze, said.

"I can say with full responsibility that Georgia will not be dependent on Russian gas supply. I think that Georgia has a priority position. We have an opportunityto receive natural gas from the pipelines of SOCAR, the Shah Deniz field and Gazprom. And in the future, if it will be interesting for us, we will be able to buy natural gas from Turkmenistan and Iran," Georgia Online cited him as saying.

Earlier, Georgian media reported that the share of Russian gas in Georgia may increase.
