Georgia hosts 718,401 int’l travellers in July

A total of 718,401 international travellers visited Georgia in July this year, a 177% increase compared to the same period of last year and a 65.3% recovery from the pre-pandemic 2019 figure, the Georgian National Tourism Administration announced. 

The Administration also revealed the number of international tourist visits had totalled 459,711, marking an 80.6% recovery for the same period of 2019 and a 115% increase year-on-year.

In July 2022, the top 15 international visitor trips were recorded from the following countries: Russia - 156,737 trips, Armenia - 103,906 trips, Turkey - 95,989 trips, Saudi Arabia - 27,712,  trips, Georgia (non-resident) - 24,278 trips, Israel - 22,684 trips, Belarus - 20,773 trips, Kazakhstan - 19,258 trips, Ukraine - 18,711 trips, Azerbaijan - 14,282 trips, Iran - 11,787 trips, India - 7,215 trips, Poland - 5,731 trips, Uzbekistan - 5,539 trips, Germany - 5,460 trips.

Overall, 2,344,329 international travellers visited the country between January-July this year, posting a 47.2% recovery from the pre-pandemic figure and a 214% increase compared to the same period of 2021. 

Additionally, in the first seven months of 2022, 1,668,983, international tourist visits were made to Georgia, a 61.9% recovery compared to 2019 and a 162 growth year-on-year, the GNTA announced.
