Georgia loses exports to Azerbaijan

In January-June of 2015 compared with January-June of 2014 the volume of exports from Georgia to Azerbaijan decreased by 55% (to 159.6 million dollars) and amounted to about 131 million dollars – 12.1% of the total exports of Georgia, according to the National Statistics Office of Georgia Geostat (Gruzstat).

During the reporting period they also recorded a decrease in the volume of imports from Azerbaijan to Georgia. In January-June of 2015 compared with January-June of 2014 the volume of imports from Azerbaijan to Georgia dropped by 6% and amounted to about 278 million dollars – 7.6% of the total imports of Georgia.

In January-June of 2015 Azerbaijan ranked second among the major trading partners of Georgia. Georgia's foreign trade turnover with Azerbaijan during this period amounted to 409 million dollars, which is 30% less than in January-June of 2014. The turnover with Azerbaijan amounted to 8.6% of the total foreign trade turnover of Georgia.
