Georgia loses to Turkey in Euro debut match

The Georgian national football team on June 18 was defeated by Turkey in the European Championship debut match.

The Turkish right-back Mert Muldur gave Turkey the lead in the 25th minute, leaving Georgia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili no chance.

Seven minutes later, Georges Mikautadze scored Georgia's first goal in a major tournament.

In the 65th minute, Real Madrid's forward Guler scored with a strike into the top corner.

Turkey sealed the success as substitute Kerem Akturkoglu rolled a finish into an empty net.

The national teams of Georgia and Turkey at Euro-2024 are competing in Group F along with Portugal and the Czech Republic.
