Georgia opens archives to Ingush scientists

Today the press service of the head of Ingushetia reported that it has reached an agreement with the Academy of Sciences of Georgia on the opening of Georgian archives for the work of Ingush historians.

"The president of the Academy of Sciences of Georgia, Giorgi Kvesitadze, at a meeting with the head of Ingushetia, Yunus-bek Yevkurov, said that Georgia will open all its archives to Ingush historians," the press service stated.

Yevkurov himself commended this arrangement, because the museum archives of Georgia have many documents about the history of the Ingush people. "Relations between the Georgian and Ingush peoples were always brotherly. Our ancestors were on friendly terms with each other and always came to the aid of each other," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
