 Georgia ready to introduce visa-free regime with Iran

Iranian President Hasan Rouhani and Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili have held telephone talks today.

The Iranian president said that Tehran and Tbilisi should improve relations in all fields. "Economic and cultural cooperation between Iran and Georgia should be further strengthened in line with the two nations’ interests," Trend cited him as saying.

According to Rouhani, the two countries have great potential to enhance economic cooperation. He also stressed that the cancellation of visa requirements between the two sides can help improve ties.

The Georgian Prime Minister said that Georgia is ready to open a new chapter in bilateral relations. In addition, Kvirikashvili said that he would pay a visit to Tehran in the near future and invited Rouhani to visit Tbilisi.
