Georgia has received 43,200 doses of the British AstraZeneca vaccine earlier today via the Covax international platform.
The vaccines are for individuals who have already received their first doses of the vaccine since March.
The registration for the second dose of the vaccine began yesterday, while vaccination will begin May 10, Agenda.ge reported.
AstraZeneca was the first coronavirus vaccine Georgia received on March 13, 2021. However, the death of a nurse following vaccination due to an allergic reaction and delayed medical aid slowed the use of AstraZeneca vaccine.
The country has already received the first doses of Pfizer, Sinopharm and Sinovac coronavirus vaccines. Vaccination with Sinovac has not started so far. The country is expecting one million doses of Pfizer vaccines in the summer.
