During the seven months of this year the volume of remittances from abroad to Georgia fell by 24.2% (202.3 million dollars) compared to the same period last year and amounted to 632 million dollars. This information is contained in data of the National Bank of Georgia.
In July citizens of Georgia received transfers worth 93.4 million dollars, which is 43.5 million dollars less than in July of last year and 7 million dollars less than in June.
Most funds came to Georgia from Russia – 39.2%, or 247.8 million dollars, followed by Greece with 13.8%, or 87.1 million dollars, the United States with 8.8%, or 55.8 million dollars, and Italy with 9.6%, or 60.6 million dollars.
