Georgia reports 1,543 new COVID-19 cases

Georgia has reported 1,543 new Covid-19 cases, 3,198 recoveries, and 20 deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate for the past 14 days stands at 16.83 percent.

Overall 35,536 remain infected with coronavirus in Georgia.

A total of 13,873 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 10,859 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 3,014 were PCR tests. 1,633,443 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Georgia since February 26, 2020.

A total of 1,581,376 of 1,633,443 patients have recovered, while 16,505 have died from the virus. The new Omicron variant of coronavirus accounts for the majority of confirmed Covid-19 cases.

A total of 1,695 are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. Currently, 494 people are undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit. 33,841 people are undergoing treatment at home. 

Overall, 1,352,924 individuals have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,250,641 people have been fully vaccinated amounting to 43.5 percent of the country’s adult population and 227,176 have received booster shots of the vaccine.
