Georgia reports 10 new COVID-19 cases

Georgia has reported 10 new COVID-19 cases today.

According to medical director of Tbilisi Infectious Disease Hospital Marina Ezugbaia, one of the new patients is a medical staff.

"One new patient contracted the virus from the Lenjeri village [of Mestia municipality], one from Havana Club in Kobuleti [in Adjara], one from contact with the infected individual and four cases are imported. Of the imported cases one is a truck driver, one medical staff and the source of infections has not been identified in the remaining two cases," Agenda.ge cited Ezugbaia as saying.

The number of recoveries has increased by six, reaching 1,092.

In total 7,597 people are in quarantine. 17 people have died of the virus in the country, and 41 citizens of Georgia have been transported home from abroad for treatment.

Since February 26, 2020 Georgia has had 1,351 cases of the coronavirus.

Deputy Governor of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Nino Vibliani said that only individuals who have had direct contact with the infected patients and have pronounced signs of the Covid-19 will undergo PCR testing.

Vibliani said that the result of yesterday's PCR tests were all negative.
