Georgia reports 17,066 new COVID-19 cases

Georgia has reported 17,066 new Covid-19 cases, 5,397 recoveries, and 30 deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate for the past 14 days stands at 17.88%.

Overall 125,410 remain infected with coronavirus in Georgia. A total of 64,412 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 41,613 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 22,799 were PCR tests. 1,127,234 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Georgia since February 26, 2020.

A total of 986,928 of 1,127,234 patients have recovered, while 14,870 have died from the virus. Overall, 1,607 cases of the Omicron variant have been confirmed in the country as of January 28, Agenda.ge reported.

A total of 4,894 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 992 patients are in critical condition out of which 280 are on artificial ventilation. 118,373 people are undergoing treatment at home. 

Overall, 1,329,744 individuals have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,216,849 people have been fully vaccinated amounting to 42.4% of the country’s adult population.
