Georgia reports 450 new COVID-19 cases

Georgia has reported 450 new Covid-19 cases, 1,540 recoveries, and six deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate for the last 14 days stands at 3.44%.

Overall 6,482 remain infected with coronavirus in Georgia. A total of 23,626 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 21,537 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 2,089 were PCR tests. 1,648,264 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Georgia since February 26, 2020.

A total of 1,624,993 of 1,648,264 patients have recovered, while 16,745 have died from the virus.

The new Omicron variant of coronavirus accounts for the majority of confirmed Covid-19 cases. A total of 535 are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. Currently, 137 people are undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit. 5,847 people are undergoing treatment at home. 

Overall, 1,361,229 individuals have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,256,781 people have been fully vaccinated amounting to 43.7 percent of the country’s adult population and 241,220 have received booster shots of the vaccine.
