Georgia has reported 553 new Covid-19 cases, 1,021 recoveries, and nine deaths in the past 24 hours.
The positivity rate for the last 14 days stands at 3.65 percent. Overall 7,578 remain infected with coronavirus in Georgia.
A total of 24,461 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 22,232 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 2,229 were PCR tests. 1,647,796 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Georgia since February 26, 2020.
A total of 1,623,453 of 1,647,796 patients have recovered, while 16,739 have died from the virus.
The new Omicron variant of coronavirus accounts for the majority of confirmed Covid-19 cases. A total of 555 are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. Currently, 140 people are undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit. 7,023 people are undergoing treatment at home.
Overall, 1,360,543 individuals have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,256,517 people have been fully vaccinated amounting to 43.7 percent of the country’s adult population and 240,155 have received booster shots of the vaccine.
