Georgia reports 590 new COVID-19 cases

Georgia has reported 590 new Covid-19 cases, 3,247 recoveries, and 10 deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate for the last 14 days stands at 5.14 percent.

Overall 16,889 remain infected with coronavirus in Georgia. A total of 20,918 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 18,675 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 2,243 were PCR tests. 1,645,301 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Georgia since February 26, 2020.

A total of 1,611,688 of 1,645,301 patients have recovered, while 16,698 have died from the virus.

The new Omicron variant of coronavirus accounts for the majority of confirmed Covid-19 cases.

A total of 714 are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. Currently, 189 people are undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit. 16,175 people are undergoing treatment at home. 

Overall, 1,358,287 individuals have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,255,357 people have been fully vaccinated amounting to 43.5 percent of the country’s adult population and 236,654 have received booster shots of the vaccine.
