Georgia reports 7,521 new COVID-19 cases

Georgia has reported 7,521 new Covid-19 cases, 3,160 recoveries, and 31 deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate for the past 14 days has increased to 10%.

Overall 57,659 remain infected with coronavirus in Georgia.

A total of 56,367 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 38,892 of the 56,367 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 17,475 were PCR tests. 1,006,864 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Georgia since February 26, 2020.

A total of 934,667 of 1,006,864 patients have recovered, while 14,512 have died from the virus. Overall, 1,254 cases of the Omicron variant have been confirmed in the country as of January 17, Agenda.ge reported.

A total of 4,465 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,015 of the 4,465 patients are in critical condition. 285 of the 1,015 critical patients are on artificial ventilation. 51,144 people are undergoing treatment at home. 

Overall, 1,310,449 individuals have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,195,578 people have been fully vaccinated.
