Georgia reports 8,767 new COVID-19 cases

Georgia has reported 8,767 new Covid-19 cases, 5,173 recoveries, and 49 deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate for the past 14 days increased to 11.39%.

Overall 64,625 remain infected with coronavirus in Georgia.

A total of 56,386 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 35,725 of the 56,386 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 20,661 were PCR tests. 1,030,710 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Georgia since February 26, 2020.

A total of 951,428 of 1,030,710 patients have recovered, while 14,631 have died from the virus. Overall, 1,419 cases of the Omicron variant have been confirmed in the country as of January 21.

A total of 4,342 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 992 of the 4,342 patients are in critical condition. 286 of the 992 critical patients are on artificial ventilation.58,388 people are undergoing treatment at home. 

Overall, 1,315,413 individuals have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,202,951 people have been fully vaccinated amounting to 41.9% of the adult population.
