Georgia reports 8 new COVID-19 cases

Georgia has reported eight new COVID-19 cases  earlier today, bringing the total number of cases to 1,455.

As of today, 6 more patients have recovered, reaching the total number of recovered people to 1,196.

Medical Director of Tbilisi Infectious Disease Hospital Marina Ezugbaia said that the that two new patients contracted the virus from contact from infected individuals, three cases were ‘imported’ and all of them are truck drivers and the source of the three cases are yet unknown. 

Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, 19 people have died of the virus. As of now, 5,943 people are in quarantine, while 252 are in hospital, Agenda.ge reported.
