More than 58 thousand crimes were reported in Georgia last year, of which 20,233 were solved, show data from Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Natia Mezvrishvili said that the figures show that the number of registered crimes increased in Georgia in 2018 compared to 2017.
Investigation started on 37,944 cases in 2017 of which 20,000 were solved, Agenda.ge reported.
The number of crimes committed against a person’s life stays the same in 2018 as it was in 2017 - 108,109 crimes.
According to the ministry, crime against property reduced by 2.5%, while crime against physical well-being reduced by 17.4%.
