Georgia's exports increases by 12.4%

Georgia's exports increased by 12.4% to $2,1 million in January-July 2019, according to data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

At the same time. Georgia's imports stood at $4,9 million (4.7% lower compared to the same period of 2018).

The external trade turnover with European Union (EU) countries decreased by 5.2% year-on-year (y/y) and amounted to $1.78 billion. Exports totaled $503.5 million (20.6% higher), while imports reached $1.28 billion (12.6% lower).

The external trade turnover of Georgia with CIS countries totalled $2.40 billion in January-July 2019 (0.7% higher). Exports came to $1.10 billion (26.6% higher) while imports sank to $1.30 billion (14.3% lower).

Overall, Georgia’s external trade decreased 0.2% and decreased to $7.07 billion in January-July 2019, Agenda.ge reported.
