Georgia's foreign trade turnover with CIS countries drops by 23%

The foreign trade turnover of Georgia with CIS countries dropped by 23% in the first half of 2015 compared to the same period of 2014, amounting to 1 billion 557 million dollars, National Statistics Office of Georgia 'Gruzstat' reports.

It should be noted that exports dropped by 44% and amounted to only 492 million dolars, while imports dropped by 6%, leaving the figure of 1 billion dollars. At the same time, trade with the CIS provides Georgia with 28% of its foreign trade turnover, earlier this figure was 31%. At the same time, 19% of the negative balance of trade was accounted for by the share of CIS countries, previously it was only 8%.
