Georgia has started procedures to cut diplomatic relations with the Syrian Arab Republic, the press service of the Georgian Foreign Ministry said.
The ministry said that recognition of Abkhazia and South Ossetia by Syria was "an illegal move and disregarded international law."
As noted, on the basis of the "decree of the government of Georgia, dated may 31, 2018, the Georgian side has terminated the Agreement on diplomatic relations between Georgia and the Syrian Arab Republic."
