Today Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili set the date of the parliamentary elections in the country.
Prior to the announcement of the date, the head of state met with Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili, cabinet ministers, the head of the State Security Service and the Secretary of the National Security Council.
"I want to inform Georgian society that the parliamentary elections in 2016 are scheduled for October 8th. Tomorrow the decision on this to countersign will be sent to the Prime Minister,'' Georgia Sputnik cites Margvelashvili as saying.
